Spring/Summer 17, Accessory must have... 

Hello, hope you’re having a wonderful day. Summer is around the corner and the mules are back!! 

The 18^th century indoor style shoe is making its way back. The backless overshoe was popularized by Marilyn Monroe in the 1950s. In the 1960s the open toed styled mule was created and they were the forerunner in the women’s shoe industry. The mule is a must have shoes for summer 2017, so expect to see them everywhere. You can find them in stores such as H&M, Nordstrom’s, and Gucci.com etc. Whether it’s an open toe, high heel or slip on mules you could casually dress them up with some black ankle slack with a light-colored blouse. Or dress it down with some destressed ankle Demin jeans with a multipurpose blouse. For example, Posh Me’ke all black Alexia top would go perfect with the Paris Backless Tassel Pink Loafer Mule by Sam Edelman (shown to the right), with a pair of ankle jeans. Not to mention it’s a great compliment to the hot pink lipstick. Greenery at its finest

April showers bring May flowers, greenery makes the scenery. Pantone color of the year is greenery. Yes, New Years day marked a new start for lots of us; however the notion of refreshing oneself lives on. Pantones states greenery is a fresh and zesty yellow-green shade that evokes the first days of spring when nature’s greens revive, restore and renew. Satisfying our growing desire to rejuvenate and revitalized.  It’s never too late to restore yourself, and reconnect with nature because It’s a part of life. Greenery was unexpected pertaining to the fashion industry. People was wondering how would this color look on the runway? During New York fashion week, the color appeared on the runway and it was delightful. Greenery can be combined with many assorted colors like purples, blues, neutral tones and gray. Or you could wear greenery accessories to make your outfit pop. Example denim shredded blue jeans, white button up top with green heels, clutch, and green sunglasses. Now that’s reconnecting with nature in classic way, which is perfect for spring and beginning summer. Remember greenery makes the scenery.

BLOOMING BEAUTY

So it's been about three months since the last blog and almost two months since Posh Me'Ke showcased the A/W 2017 line during New York fashion week. The experience was great. We latch onto some valuable tips, while gaining more press and supporters. Moving forward, we have chosen our hang tags. An all-black horizontal tag with Posh Me'Ke logo in all white. Giving off that classic but sleek look. Also we want to say a big thank you to photographer Luis Aragon for his assistance in creating Posh Me'Ke vision for the A/W 2017 look book. Here is one photo from the look book photo shoot. The model is wearing Posh Me'Ke navy blue Alexia top. Color better known as inky blue in the fashion industry. Inky blue is a part of 2017 A/W colours. This color continues to be a core colour next to black. The model is also wearing latte color pant that resemble a khaki tone another color that is in this year; fashionistas call it wear tan. Adding a fresh colour to the corporate world, Posh Me'Ke is blooming well despite a few bumps in the road, but that's apart of creating your dream.                                            -----Danielle Harris

Posh Me'Ke 2017 Collection

As we prepare to showcase our 2017 collection,  we can’t help to think about the last couple of years.  With every doubt, with every tear, with every learning experience we remained consistent and determined. Throughout this process, we realize the grind is not glamorous; Contrary to social media post that places glorifies on the benefits of owning a business, people rarely show the difficult moments that really makes one’s story. To take that leap of faith one has to understand he/she will take many losses before seeing any gains. The glamorous life of a business owner is the reward for all those ugly days when one is challenge beyond measure. Those days should not be the focus, however can be the  motivation through struggle until experiencing success.  One known fact is that failure is the prerequisite for success. Posh Me’Ke took 2 years to put the pieces together to create the picture that best fits the brand, and finally, showcase our collection. 

So today’s message is just don't show and/or tell the highlights, but show the true process in that there is a higher value. The sacrifice of a business owner is very real and sometimes complicated,  but worth it. There is no glitz and glam without the struggle, without learning from bad decisions and having bad days. Through our struggle I’m proud to say, “Posh Me’Ke Collection Fall/Winter 2017 will be showcased in New York Fashion Week 2017.” Stay Tuned!! 

What a year!

Like all things everything must come to an end and the year 2016 is on its way out the door.  What a year this has been! Here's a review:  I became a homeowner and found out that decorating my home is so similar to fashion.  Choosing the perfect wall color or creating an accent wall that will make a statement is like choosing the proper accessories for an outfit.  Next, I noticed fashion definitely repeats itself.  Never would I have thought that I would see a “choker” again.  Ladies, please put the choker away.  It should have stayed in the 90s where it belonged.  Fashion fades for a reason and some trends should not repeat itself. Please don’t blame the designer because every designer no matter how famous tend to make mistakes.  Finally, this year took PoshMeke through some changes.  We no longer have our original manufacturer company but everything happens for a reason. This journey has not been a boring ride by far.  After numerous meetings, Morgen E. found a new manufacturer company that will execute the garments to pure perfection!  Posh MeKe launched their website, look book and celebrated their 1 year anniversary this year.  Sketches are in the works for 2017 so look forward to seeing PoshMeke’s garments in a boutique near you.

The year 2016 was filled with celebrations, obstacles, fashion dos and don’ts but one thing’s for certain is 2017 will be Posh MeKe’s year!  Happy Holidays from the Posh MeKe team and thank you again for accompanying us on our journey.

Being the Right Hand

The sound of my alarm awakens me at 4am. The hustle began as I get myself together to meet my sis, the founder of Posh Me’Ke, LLC . Every minute counts as we travel to NYC for our first meeting with our new manufacturing company. We live by the motto, “on time is late, early is on time.” If you have been following Posh Me’Ke’s journey you know we have been through this before, but this time we are little more seasoned in our understanding of the concepts and the methods. Not knowing what to expect, we are ready for anything. We use fear as a motivation to keep pressing forward.

Our timing could not have been any better.  As soon as we entered the factory we saw our garments on the rack, our team Stateless NY working and organizing all the necessary information for our review. It was time to make crucial decisions regarding the fit, the color, the material, and the style.  Posh Me’Ke 2017 Fall/Winter collection will energize the fashion world and give every fashionista a statement piece. Versace Inspiration

As I am seated and waiting for the Versace Spring/Summer 2017 show to start, the lights dim and the music starts: “Take the leap, if we do nothing, we get nothing. Take the leap because living is better than dreaming. We all have it deep down inside. Strength is there behind our fear.”

Amazing fashion was showcased, but it was more than just exclusive garments to die for, it was the inspirational message behind show that captivated Morgen E.  Its shows like this that drives her creativity and pushes her through the journey of building the brand Posh Me’Ke. We all know that being persistent and consistent wins the race, however sometimes a little reiteration is needed. It is similar to a beating drum, beating the concept in our brains that we can do anything.  Watching the show and absorbing the fashion, Morgen E. looks at the runway representing the travel to the overall destination, Posh Me’Ke.
