Monday Motivation

Monday is a fresh start.  Its never too late to dig in and begin a new journey of success.

Happy Sunday Posh Me’Ke readers!  Its the end of the weekend and the beginning of a new week.  We are going to take this Sunday and prepare for Monday.  Im not talking about doing laundry, going grocery shopping or finding what you are going to wear to work the next day.  When I say prepare, I mean get motivated.  I want you get some paper and write down notes on things that motivate you.  It could be something that you see on television, a song you heard or by reading this blog to get you motivated.

My motivation stems from my son and my friends.  You want to surround yourself with people that inspire and motivate you to do better.  There is always room for growth.  Stop waiting for things to happen.  Go out and make them happen.

I want to know what motivates you.  Leave a comment on the blog or on our Instagram page about what your "Monday Motivation" will be.

Wedding Bliss

“…Yes you can wear whatever you want…it is your day.  You set the rules…”

                                                         --Unknown

It's wedding season. My cousin got married yesterday and it was simply beautiful!  Prior to the wedding, I could not think of what to wear.  The invitation indicated that the wedding will take place outdoors in the evening and did I mention its 95 degrees outside.  This is where my dilemma came in.  I needed an outfit that was cool, comfortable and of course cute.  I am used to attending weddings in a church.  I definitely had to do some research and figure out the “proper attire”.

I decided to wear a black and white mixed print fit and flare dress with my blue fringe heeled sandals to add that pop of color.  During the pre-ceremony, I took a look around and noticed a variety of outfits ranging from florals, prints, maxi dresses, A-line skirts and jumpsuits.  Overall, everyone looked chic and elegant.

The sun is starting to set, music is playing and we take our seats overlooking the water.  Here comes the bride.

Easy like Sunday Morning

“This is your Sunday evening reminder that you can handle whatever this week throws at you.”
                                                                          --Unknown

Today's blog is about enjoying Sunday’s.  Some people dread Sundays because they know the weekend is over.  Today, I refuse too. I woke up this morning to the sun beaming into my room and thought about this past week. It was a rough one. It seemed like everything that could have went wrong did. I just want to take this Sunday to relax and enjoy the day. The weather is hot so I'm going to throw on my maxi dress, flip flops and shades.  Getting in my car, I decide to listen to Maroon5, Sunday Morning song.  It’s setting the tone for my day.  I’m going to head to brunch with a friend, have some good conversation, good food and you can't forget the bottomless mimosas!  I just want to erase the previous week and prepare for the one to come.  With all the tragedies occurring, I want the readers to take this Sunday and make it the best one yet.  Find your happy place, enjoy the moment.

Versace

“I think it’s the responsibility of a designer to try to break rules and barriers.”

                                                                               --Gianni Versace

Flashy prints, bright colors, the Medusa logo.  Can you guess which designer this is? It's the one and only Versace.  Founded in 1978 by the late Gianni Versace, this world famous Italian luxury Fashion Company produces high-class Italian-made clothing, accessories and home collections.

The name Versace has always been a topic of discussion. From music artists to magazine covers, you would see stars dressed from head to toe in Versace.  At the Grammy Awards in 2000, J. Lo made headlines wearing the infamous “Green Versace Dress” that had people’s heads turning left and right. It was also voted as the “fifth most iconic dress of all time.”  Comedian Kevin Hart recently posted picture on Instagram of himself in a red logo print Versace robe that exudes luxury.

Although Gianni Versace is no longer around his fashion will live forever.

Fireworks and Fashion

“One Flag, One Land, One Heart, One Hand, One Nation Evermore!
                                                               --Oliver Wendell Holmes

Lots of colorful sparkles in the sky and everyone is saying ooh…ahh at the beautiful fireworks.  A few of us may be attending cookouts, heading to the beach or just celebrating at home with friends and family this 4th of July. Depending on what venture you take part in, your ensemble should be practical. Get inspired by this holiday and dress the part.  You can ditch the stars and get a cute striped romper and pair it with some sandals.  Celebrate Independence Day with a splash of red, white or blue. Whether you wear some distressed jeans and a sequin top or a party dress with a pair pumps. Have fun with it and make it your own!

PoshMe’ke is wishing everyone a safe and fashionable 4th of July!
