"Never Say Never In Fashion. Because You'll Be Wearing "Never" in Two Years' Time"

No one would ever thought that fashion and technology would be in the same sentence.  Wearable technology hits Haute Couture, in that 3D printing is now taken the fashion industry to a new level. The fashion industry incorporated biology in reference to animal anatomy and plants geometry to wearable garments . Dutch Designer Iris Van Herpen’s has experimented with this technology and was voted in Time Magazine 2011, as one of the 50 Best inventions of the year.  She also featured a dress in her 2015 Spring Show in Paris, in which she was recognized for using the technique.  These 3D designs are a show stopper, like an amazing exhibit while on the catwalk, but as of today, they are unable to be worn.  

This technology also also allow one to have their body scanned to obtain a perfect fit.  3D printing is enabling designers to create futuristic clothes using different materials; however,  this technology may have an adverse affect, in that it may make some jobs in the fashion industry obsolete.

Everyday Heels Fits The Everyday Woman

Shoes, no woman can never have enough of them. From flats, to sneakers to the classic pump to your statement pump, we all know there are many varieties and flavors.  This season the stiletto pump has taken a back seat to the trendy, easy to wear square chunky heel.  Yes, fabulous and comfortable seems to be the push lately.  Can you believe that we can have our cake and eat it too?! 


Fashion has adopted the notion and has embraced the woman that is on the go, whether you are a stay at home mom or the ambitious business woman. Designers have conformed to the new everyday woman.  The chunky heel does not take away from the sex appeal that every woman desire and gives the fashionista another reason to be over the top.  Spicing it up with tassels, fringes, studs or the sexy ones that tie all the way up the leg, there is a style for you. How great is that? Of course, the stiletto pump can never be replaced, but incorporating the easy to wear chunky heel made shoe fashion undeniably comfortable.  My feet says thank you from the bottom of their soles!!

 

Posh Me'ke meets Paige

“Once I saw the Posh Me’ke designs it was game over!”

“I was blown away by them on the hanger and my jaw dropped as soon as I tried them on,” said 23-year-old Paige Clark who is a fit model as well as a print model for the upcoming look book of Posh Me’ke.  Starting off in pageantry is what led Paige into modeling.  After being crowned Miss Maryland Teen USA in 2011, she was given a scholarship to a modeling school and the rest is history.

While working with Paul Francis Designs, Paige was introduced to Morgen E. and was instantly drawn in by her energy and determination.  “Once I saw the Posh Me’ke designs it was game over, these garments would make any woman feel like she just hit the red carpet. Being the first to wear Posh Me’ke designs and able to make the clothes come to life is one of the best things about working with Posh Me’ke,” said Paige.   

Currently nonexclusively signed with an agency in Washington, D.C., Paige hopes to continue working with Morgen E. and Posh Me’ke in the future.

I’ve done tons of photo shoots, however, this by far is the first photoshoot of my life that mattered. Leading up to the shoot I was nervous, anxious, etc. I spent a lot of time preparing for this day, I really wanted to nail my vision.  I created a story board that would capture my audience and portray my brand as I saw it. I needed the team to understand the story and the reasoning behind it, the brand ME’KE. 

Our official photoshoot was great. The hairstylist and makeup artist worked simultaneously in prepping the models who did an amazing job as the photographer landed the shots. I couldn't ask for anything more. I’m dying to show the world the official garments, but that too is a process. This photoshoot and the other shoots to come will always give a snippet of the energy encompassed by the woman who wears ME’KE.
