Dreams Do Come True

“I have big dreams, and an even bigger vision.”
                                    --Morgen E.

With that, she started to develop Me’Ke….

While shopping for sewing supplies, Morgen E. was speaking to a sales associate who pointed out a man who was recently featured in an article in the Baltimore Sun about manufacturing a young lady’s Yoga line.  That man just so happened to be Paul James Torres, President and Co-Founder of Paul Francis Designs, LLC, a full-service luxury apparel design product development and manufacturing firm.  Rushing out the store to catch Paul James as he was getting in his vehicle, Morgen E. introduced herself.  They exchanged information and she later contacted him for a meeting.  At the meeting was Paul James along with Vice President and Co-Founder, Francis James De’Santis Jr. “That meeting marked the beginning of Me’Ke.”said Morgen E.

Using her first name Morgen and middle initial along with her sister’s name “Kim” and her middle initial, the name Me’Ke was created.  The line Me’Ke will consist of a variety of clothing, such as skirts, pants and blouses catering to the 25-40 age range.  Bright colors, prints and patterns will be available for the woman who calls herself a fashionista while a more neutral pattern will be available for the more conservative woman.  The woman who wears Me’Ke can go to work, leave for happy hour or even head to a date after work.

In hopes of having the line Me’Ke recognized throughout the U.S. and becoming internationally known, Morgen E. says she has a “big dream and an even bigger vision” for Me’Ke.

We can look forward to seeing Morgen E. launch some pieces from her new collection in Fall/Winter 2016.

Who is Morgen E.?

“Dream It.  Wish It.  Do It.”

                        --Tally Weijl

“Me’Ke is for the bold and confident woman, the one that dares to be different.”  says Morgen E., founder and designer of Me’Ke.  Always having a passion for fashion as far as she can remember, Morgen E. has always been approached by friends to style them for different events.  Her sense of style and eye for detail gained her the title of ‘Fashion Stylist’.  Growing up in Baltimore, MD, she knew that she always wanted to indulge herself in fashion.  “Designing just happened,” she said.  Encouraged by a special friend to follow her dreams in fashion, Morgen E. started taking the necessary steps to make that dream come true.  Enrolling herself in a sewing school and taking a sketch class, Morgen E. knew that she was headed in the right direction to become a fashion designer.  With the guidance of her teachers, Ms. Margaret Garland and Ms. Donna Kakou, Morgen E. was able to express herself and get her creative juices flowing.

With that, she started to develop Me’Ke…

Fashion vs Style

“Fashion is about dressing according to what’s fashionable.  Style is more about being yourself.”
                                                                              --Oscar De La Renta

Designer labels, we hear about them in songs and read about them in magazines.  Everybody screams labels and of course labels are HOT! But what is your style?    When I looked up the definition of style, it read:  A manner of doing something; a distinctive appearance.  Your distinctive appearance is your personal style.  You can buy your clothes from Target and make it look like you spent hundreds on it or you can buy your clothes from Neiman Marcus and literally spend hundreds on it!  It’s all about how you wear it and the confidence you have while wearing it.

Each of us have our own personal style.  Mine for instance are jeans and heels.  In my opinion, I always feel sexy when I wear it.  It’s my “go-to” outfit if I am going out.  One of my girlfriends can get a pair of sweatpants, throw some bleach on them to give them that distressed look and pair it with some Giuseppe heels and she is ready to go!

Take risks and don’t be afraid to step out of your comfort zone when it comes to your personal style.  Just remember it doesn't matter how much your clothes cost or where you may get them from.  When you are getting dressed be sure to put your personal touch to create your own personal style.

Let's talk about shoes!

“Shoes transform your body language and attitude.  They lift you
physically & emotionally.”
                                       --Christian Louboutin

Shopping for shoes is one of the best feelings in the world.  “Better than sex!” says my friend Tasha.  I agree with her because the shoes last longer than the orgasm.  As a woman there is nothing like slipping on a new pair of shoes, especially a bootie with a 5 inch heel in my opinion!

Buying a new bag, a piece of jewelry or whatever it may be is therapeutic for a woman’s mind, body and soul.  But nothing compares to when you walk into your favorite shoe store and see those pumps in assorted colors, peep toe booties and comfortable flats.

What’s so special about shoes you may ask?  We all have to wear shoes because we just can’t walk around barefoot as if we are at the beach.  Shoes build confidence and make any outfit brand new.  They get us around from place to place and may cause some pain along the way.  The right pair of shoes can add a twist to that Plain Jane outfit.

Orange, black or pink? Size 7 ½ in all 3 colors please!  If someone ever says that you have too many pairs of shoes, you let them know that one can never have enough shoes!
